Composer, researcher, spectral artist, interdisciplinary practitioner, and creator of Spectral Lab.

Habib Rahimi is a composer, researcher, and university lecturer whose work moves between contemporary composition,persian traditions, spectral music, psychoacoustic thought, electroacoustic practice, and interactive audio systems.

His current research centers on spectral composition and the perceptual tension between harmonicity and inharmonicity, with case studies in works by Gerard Grisey, Tristan Murail, and Kaija Saariaho.

Alongside instrumental and fixed-media works, Rahimi develops research-oriented tools and editorial platforms that connect listening, analysis, pedagogy, and contemporary Iranian music.

Statement

Rahimi treats sound as material, evidence, and perceptual event. His work follows the thresholds where resonance, distortion, instrumental resistance, and cognitive listening become compositional structure.
